Our Doctors

All our doctors are extremely experienced and offer patients understanding and compassion in what can sometimes be difficult situations.

Dr Samuel Komakech

Dr Sam Komakech moved to Australia with his wife and 2 children in 2007, after completing his medical training in Beijing. Sam has completed a MSC in biomedical Science – majoring in infectious diseases (Curtin University). He has worked in various hospitals around the state and moved into rural general practice in 2015 to forge a career as a GP. Sam enjoys all aspects of general practice with a special interest in skin cancer and minor procedures. He also speaks fluent Mandarin and Luo as a second language.

Dr Joe Buters

Dr Joe Buters, is a Western Australian trained GP who has lived and worked locally for over 25 years. His interests include skin cancer detection, care of the older patient and mature onset diabetes.

Dr Malcolm Broom

Dr Malcolm Broom, initially trained at UWA, graduating in 1988, and spent the following 2 years working at Royal Perth Hospital in various specialty departments. Travelling to New Zealand with his wife, Mal worked in various hospitals and completed his Diploma of Obstetrics. He also traveled to the UK undertaking specific General Practice training before successfully passing the Royal College of General Practice Practitioners exams. Upon returning home, Mal worked in Albany, Mt Barker, Port Hedland and Perth, before joining Mandurah Medical Centre in 1995. Mal and his wife have had the pleasure of raising their family here and watching Mandurah grow from a small country town into the vibrant and dynamic city it is now.

Dr Huan Nguyen

Dr Huan Nguyen, grew up in Perth and graduated with his medical degree from UWA in 1999. He has worked in various hospitals in Perth including Sir Charles Gairdner, Hollywood, Joondalup Health Campus and King Edward Memorial Hospital. He worked in Narrogin before moving to Mandurah to complete his specialist qualifications in General Practice. Huan has been at Mandurah Medical Centre since 2003. Interests include, type 2 diabetes, travel medicine, antenatal care, occupational medicine and depression. Outside of work Huan uses every opportunity to travel and enjoys photography and hiking.

Dr Leah Geonzon

Dr Leah Geonzon, is a fellow of the RACGP and has worked full time at Mandurah Medical Centre since 2006. She emigrated from the Philippines where she worked a s a specialist physician for 10 years. Leah is interested in all aspects of medicine, but especially adult medicine and chronic disease management. Dr Geonzon is fluent in English, Filipino and Visayan languages.

Dr John Buckley

Dr John Buckley has been working as a GP in Mandurah since moving here from Ireland with his family in 1992. He ran his own practice for almost 20 years, moving to Mandurah Medical Centre in July 2012. John is widely experienced and enjoys all aspects of family practice and intends to continue for many years to come. Apart from his work in General Practice, one of John’s ambitions is to be present at the MCG when the Fremantle Dockers win a Grand Final!!

Dr Patricia Too

Dr Patricia Too, came to Australia from Canada in 2006, and has been with Mandurah Medical Centre since 2014. Patricia has a keen interest in Skin Cancer diagnosis and care, as well as all aspects of general practice.

Dr Peter Stone

Dr Peter Stone trained at UWA, graduating in 2013 after qualifying as a doctor later in life.  Since qualifying he has been working in the hospital system at Fremantle, Fiona Stanley Hospital and Armadale.  For the last four years, Peter has been specialising in paediatrics at Rockingham and Perth Children’s Hospital.  He loves working with kids and they love him!
He is also interested in neurology & stroke rehabilitation, geriatrics and acute medicine.  His career highlights include providing quality holistic and patient care in hospital and charting ice cream on a medication chart for a patient in need.

Peter is starting his GP training at Mandurah Medical in 2022.  He is looking forward to the rewarding challenges of general practice and becoming a part of the Mandurah community.

Dr Amna Pervaiz

Dr Amna has been practicing in Australia since 2022, with diverse experience working in both metropolitan and regional hospitals. She is dedicated to providing holistic and patient centred care to patients of all age groups.

Her areas of special interest include general medicine, chronic disease management, paediatrics and women’s health.

In addition to English, she is fluent in Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi.

Dr Stephanie Sideris

Dr Stephanie Sideris moved from NSW to WA to study medicine, graduating from UWA in 2017. Since then she has worked in numerous hospitals around the state in Bunbury, Fremantle, Rockingham, Fiona Stanley, Sir Charles Gairdner, and Joondalup, before embarking on her GP training journey in 2026.

Her interests are all things General Practice, but in particular oncology, neurology and chronic disease management.
